About kathryn
I am an actor, a producer, an online video innovator and a new media expert.
I am passionate about a lot of things... the empowerment that the world of new media hands to anyone willing to dive in head first... travel, food, politics, acting, food, my husband, food, social media....
I am currently producing "Better Left Unsaid" the first of it's kind live streamed video play.
My love for live theater and new media have inspired me to create a number of online video projects. The two I am most proud of are "35", the first web drama to stream live over the internet, and Women Respond to Palin , the first of its kind live webathon.
An amalgam of theater, film and internet tv, producing "35" (10 episodes, three cameras, shot and streamed in real time, a cast and crew of 20 and oh, so little money) is my proudest professional achievement. "35" was covered my the NY Times, The Wall Street Journal, Mashable, tons of blogs and featured on iTunes. I love the live streaming paradigm and I can't wait to do more.
Women Respond to Palin, was an 8 hour live political webathon that I produced with the wonderful Charlie Oliver. Again, for oh so little money, the voices of hundreds of women were heard across the internet. Women Respond to Palin had 17,000 unique views in an 8 hour period.
Along with my husband Guiesseppe, I conceived of, produced and hosted "The Crabbo and Jabbo Show", a live internet talk show about technology and the arts.
I was the producer, host and editor ifnotnow.net's video podcast "Question of the Week", have spoken at online video and social media conferences throughout the United States, and served as VP of Branded and Sponsored Entertainment at For Your Imagination.
I have produced theater both in the United States and at the Edinburgh International Fringe Festival. I received my acting training at Northwestern University, Actor’s Theatre of Louisville and The Shakespeare Lab at the Joseph Papp Public Theater. I have worked in theaters around the United states and have shot numerous shorts and independent films.
